We had been hearing little scratching noises near the kitchen wall for weeks. Tried the hallway, didn't feel right, moved it to the pantry. We have two cats and they haven't seemed bothered. It's about the size of a phone charger, so it disappears. It runs without any noise that I can hear. Honestly the cupboards have looked a lot cleaner since. Not magic, but definately helpful.
