Wanted something that didn't involve traps or sprays around the kids. Stuck it in the outlet behind the trash can at first. We have two cats and they haven't seemed bothered. Green light is barely noticeable on the wall. Honestly the cupboards have looked a lot cleaner since. Honestly I'd buy it again.
